Just found this, Sky Safari 3 for iOS is currently free on the App Store. Might be useful to some.

Ooooo this is frustrating! I used to use an iPhone. Initially bought this when it was Sky Voyager for about £17. Then it got updated to Sky Safari which cost me about £25. Now moved to Android and really don't want to spend any more money but it isn't free in the Play Store! I imagine it's only the simpler version you're talking about but that is still far superior to anything on android. Harumph!
