DIY flight cases

Looking at ready made flight cases they appear to be made from specially formed ally sections and corners.

Does anyone know if the parts are available for DIY ?

The reason I ask is because I'm buying a new refractor for portable use and would like it to be in a nice solid case, unfortunately it seems that the more expensive the scope the worse the case you get.

The SW Esprit comes in a nice case, the William Optics comes in a soft case and the Tak' comes in a cardboard box and seeing Ollys post on couriers the other day a case for the Tak' aint cheap.

I did find that kind of kit at a local hardware store in the past (I built flight cases for the lighting equipment of our student drama society). I bet there are online suppliers

Cool! Been looking for some of these.

I am starting to build my own boxes from wood. Foam is on my list as well so looking for pluck type foam sheets. Found a few on ebay.
