There is no problem at all in putting a "small" scope on the mount. The only time you get problems is if you overload a mount with a scope(s) that is too heavy for its design loading. You don't say which Skymax model you have - you may need to buy a dovetail bar and some rings for it.

Later model 127s have a dovetail attached directly to the scope so you can just fit it directly to the mount. Earlier models have a different fitting but FLO sell a replacement dovetail. You just unscrew the original and fit the replacement. No need for tube rings.

the only problem you may have is balancing as the 127 is so light compared to the CW on the NEQ6. I had an 127 mak on an EQ5 and had to have the CW right up against the mount and even then it was still CW heavy
