150pl f8 1200mm vs 250p f5 1250mm planetary detail

I have a Skywatcher 250mm f5 1250mm Newt.

Used with a Pentax 7mm XW gives great planetary and lunar views at around x178. How would the Skywatcher 150pl f8 1200mm stack up against it in the same conditions for detail and contrast.

Gerry.

more aperture = more resolution so the 10" will generally win unless seeing is very poor. I have a 6" f11 dob and although images are great, with lots of detail, contrast and sharpness, they are not as good as my 12" dob, especially when seeing is OK; when the seeing is good - excellent it's even less of a contest. don't get me wrong, I am a massive fan of my 6" f11 and would never sell it, but it would not compete ultimately with a 10" scope.
