Out for the second night on the trot, which is pleasing, however the moonlight is not giving good seeing. I'm imaging M57 and am on my 7th 10 minute sub of 9. Eyes are drooping as I was out til 3am. It's great to be out though! Shouldn't complain!

The Moon is exceptionally large and bright at the moment. I could barely fit it in the frame on my 450D when I normally don't have too much trouble. Not a great time for imaging at the moment, really -- bright moon low to the south, bright sky to the north because we're close to mid-summer (hah!) and the Sun isn't too far below the horizon. Can't complain about the clear skies though.

Sources don't seem to agree, but it appears that some time over this weekend the Moon is at perigee, so it definitely appears bigger and brighter, especially with perigee occurring so close to Full Moon.
