I had the 8mm-5mm for about 18 months before I bought fixed focal length eyepieces. I think they are very good indeed with 82 degree wide field on all focal lengths, it has click stops at 0.5mm which is nice. They are sharp for most of the field only let down by the very edge where there are a few colour aberrations especially on very bright objects like Venus and the Moon. If you can get one for about 170 pounds I would say it is a good buy.
