Mounting plate for CR1 and OO Newtons'

I am considering changing my 1.25 R&P for a CR1Moonlight. Has any one else fitted a moonlight to an OO Newton? In fact is there anything I might need to know before I attempt such a thing?

I think one good thing about Moonlite is that their fitting kit is pretty much guaranteed to negate the need to drill any holes in the OTA where there's a 2" focuser. unfortunately with your scope, I am pretty sure you'll need to make the focuser hole bigger and drill new holes. that said, it should be pretty easy with <1mm walls and this would be a major enhancement to the scope.

I am very tempted to get the tube and base powder coated a retro Vanilla colour and flock the tube at the same time.

Black telescopes and mounts are a stupid idea, the amount of times I have nearly walked into my scope.

There's a school of thought that light coloured scopes are less of a dew magnet too.
