Heron Galaxy - visual v imager

After viewing the Heron galaxy NGC 5394/5 I suggested Mike (from Bristol Astro Society) who images might like to image this object.

Well he did! So here is a comparison on a 10 inch dob observation v a three hour imaging session.

There are some stars I observed that I can pick out in the image and of course the two galaxies.

His image is awesome but I did enjoy capturing this pair visually.

They are right overhead when it gets dark at the moment.

Wow, nice capture. Will have a look at this in Canes Venatici, bit of a Dob dance overhead though !

Very nice capture and sketch. Nice comparison. These are still on my to-do list, but I do not know if my 8" scope will suffice (and the clouds need to buzz off as well). At mag 13 it is going to be very tough indeed
