Is Mars going to appear in a good position this year?

I'm itching to see the red planet again.

As far as I know we'll be waiting till 2014 I'm afraid

No opposition of Mars for 2013 I'm afraid. April 8th 2014 is the next one. The 2018 one will be better though as Mars will reach a much larger apparent angular size - 14 arc seconds in 2014 V's 24 arc seconds in 2018.
