Comet L4 Panstarrs was a success tonight.

Dad & I ventured out tonight to try to spot it. Thanks to the help of pgwenlan we managaed to find it.

Location Senghenydd/Nelson mountain Caerphilly South Wales.

It was great to see & hope it is my 1st of many. I was looking through amy 200p whilst Pete had his binoculars

& he was also imaging it with his dslr which should show it quite nicely.

I managed to see it with some very knackered 8x30 wartime bins tonight, very pleased with myself.

If the weather is clear tomorrow I'm ditching squash to find a clearer view with my scope.

I had to lean out of a bedroom window but I could clearly make out the bright core and it's fan tail, a wonderful sight.

No luck in Cornwall either - too much cloud and then it started raining, doh!

Managed to spot it from East Northamptonshire at 7.15 this evening. Easy object in 7x50 bins and just about with the unaided eye before it disappeared into the murk.
