Adapting a 2" diagonal to a 1.5" fitting

Greetings 'Oh fountain of all knowledge :D':

I have just bought a S/H Orion Optics OMC140 (part A) which I believe (not actually seen it yet) has a 1.5" fitting on the back of the scope. The star diagonal I have is a 2" WO unit (part :D.

Any suggestions on how I should fit part A to part B preferably not using any form of adhesive or heat?

Thanks

Martyn

1.5"? Are you sure? It's highly likely to be a 1.25" or SCT thread. If it's an SCT thread you can get a 2" visual back for the OMC. If it's a 1.25" then you might be out of luck as without a custom adapter I know of no way of using 2" accessories with a 1.25" visual back. If it's 1.5" then Orion should supply their own adapter to use standard accessories.

Thanks for the reply...

I have to admit that I have not yet seen the beast and actually meant 1.25 (typo) - sorry... The Orion site refers to 31.7mm which is nearly 1.25"...

In light of that, any suggesions?

Getting somewhere - thanks

The OMC140 claims to be Meade/Celestron comaptible.

All the adaptors that I have found (so far) are 2" push fit, bit the WO diagonal that I have seem to be a screw fit. It is claimed to be SCT - does this look right?

Sorry for the dumb questions, but in the past all I have had to worry about is a newt and tbh, I've never looked closely at a MCT or SCT..
