Jupiter Moondance

Great sequence between about 6.30 and 7.00 last night.

Firstly the Great Red Spot was visible and then after Europa had crossed the disc it was ending its transit at the exact time that Io was beginning to go behind the planet. For a few minutes the planet had two tiny ears and then Io disappeared as Europa pulled clear. Then about 20 mins later Ganymede appeared from eclipse shortly before Europa's shadow began it's transit - all in less than half an hour. That's why I love the planets. Conditions were only average but all this was clearly visible. I wonder how often the simultaneous 'one in one out' routine happens?

I did just miss the precise moment of the emergence of Ganymede because I find that the S&T Jupiter app does not seem to be accurate on emerging from eclipse times though the other times were spot on.
