If that's still the forecast at, oh, 6pm on Monday evening, then I might believe them. But I'll check out of the window first.

Seems safer to assume that even if it is a forecast 10 minutes before you want to observe it could still be wrong.

Had an observing night a week ago and all forecasts were for a clear night, even 10 minutes before getting in the car, but the sky was cloud in every direction, and remained so.

Last nights was forecast as cloud, cloud and more cloud on 2 sites. It was clear enough to observe, not great but possible.
