First light!

Not been into astronomy long, did a bit of webcam imaging with a 127 mak but just done a deal with sparkyjon and swapped the mak for a super C8 plus. The scope is brilliant, really well constructed and lovely to move about the sky.

i took it out for 10 mins last night (my youngest daughter was a bit poorly yesterday so couldn't get out any longer) and all I can say is WOW!I quickly lined the scope up with jupiter and was blown away. Honestly, the image wasn't that much bigger then through my old mak (I kept the eye pieces that came with the mak) but the colours were amazing. You could instantly see the colour difference between all the cloud bands.

My next step is to try to polar align it, never done this before so could be a bit tricky.
