Many thanks! This was with a canon 60D and sigma 17-70mm @17mm f2.8 iso 1600 for about 15 seconds and cropped a bit.

Cheers, I was surprised that I captured quite a few streaks across my images, not sure if they are meteors or satellites, also got an errant plane streaking across several panes, looks quite odd, a streak with dots on each side from the wing lights.

I would say that one is a satellite mine just hit the atmosphere and heated up just for a second so i'm going with meteor. Flame on!

very nice image, always a bonus to catch a meteor as well. i would also agree that cstew's image is a satellite as well, if you look at the two images the meteor starts dim, brightens and dims again, the satellite stays a constant brightness.both nice captures though!

just seen this now buddy! dam what a lovely pic! i love your images mate, reallly nice! i have to have a try at just using the DSLR instead of all ways imaging with the telescope.....

Many thanks V.I.P.! Bulb mode with a remote manually exposing is the way to go when trying it this way very rewarding when you get it right!
