350D Mod Gone Wrong - HELP!

Recommended Posts

Not my mod, but need some help for a friend as this one has me scratching my head.

The 350 was sound before mod (filter removal, no replacement.)

Post mod the camera takes good (red tint obviously) daytime photos but ...

Astro shots are covered (and I mean all over the image) in what "look" like stuck pixels.

Any pointers or suggestions welcome :)

What I can answer off the top of my head

127mm Acro

ISO 800

30s sub or less (can't confirm that)

Noise (what it appears to be) is incredibly worse than pre mod

Connection was my first though, he's stripped and rebuilt it this afternoon

Pull it apart again and refit and ensure all foil plug and socket connectors to ensure all are connecting properly.

It took me three strip downs to resuscitate my 1000d after I modded it, those plugs and sockets are fiddly and look like they are connected but more often than not they aint.

Problem resolved, thanks for the advice.

My mate has changed the chip to one from another camera - I'm not sure that's fixed it, but I suspect the ribbon cable from the sensor assembly was loose. Either way he's up and running again :)
