goto systems

this is a curiosity question more than anything , do all the handsets work with eachother on goto systems..

example i have a meade auto star #494 if i plugged in a skywatcher handset would it work?

obviously there might be different versions for EQ and ALT/AZ but would they work like for like?

No the software will be different. Bit like apple and android
