Transporting scope - finder still aligned?

Recommended Posts

When trransporting a scope I presume the finder is removed. When I reattach it will it still be aligned (like the scopes hitmen have in the movies  )

Also would there be a difference between different types of finder.

Also on the same topic is there a way of locking the alignment . I have a Teltrad ,an RDF which came with my ST120 and a SW 9X50 Right angled finder - I cant figure out how to "lock" the alignment on any of them or even know if this can be done.

I am rapidly learning that provision of comprehensible instructions (if any are supplied at all) is not a strong point amongst manufacturers of scopes and equipment - thank God for SGL !

Hi

My RACI finder stays pretty good when removed for transport, seldom needing realigning. The Telrad on the other hand often needs a little tweak. This takes only a couple of shakes and we're done.

edit: looks like there's some difference in Telrads :D
