The sun in Ha 26-1-13

Hello,

Finally, the sun in Ha after 8 days of waiting. There was some mist or high level cloud causing a lack of detail, but overall it was a good morning.

I processed the surface in Registax 5 & 6 and to my surprise Reg 6 made a better job bringing out more detail.

Same picture different processing. Lunt 60 PT (Single stack) DMK41. 600 frames out of 1500 for the surface and 450 frames out of 800 for the proms.

I took some with a 2x barlow and a 1.5x barlow, still to be processed, but don't think conditions were good enough.

Hi,

I had a go at processing the 1.5x pictures, as I suspected a little disappointing and think that there was too much mist/cloud to get any real detail. Anyway after 8 days of nothing it is good to get even a few minutes.

I hope so, Alexandra. I wasn't really very happy with the 1.5x and I just bought a Televue 2x that I tried, even worse results, so clearly the seeing was rubbish. I am not all that hopefully for tomorrow, it was looking good, but seems to be going ddownhill as I write this.

I have also started googling a double stack for my Lunt, expense major, but the pictures you and Kevin put up with the double stack really makes the sun seem alive. Another delivery that will have to go to work and sneaked in past the fun police.
