Digital astro magazines - anyone subscribe to them?

I am thinking about getting a magazine subscription for the iPad, certainly cheaper than the actual magazine, specifically S@N. On the magazine you get a disc each month with hotshots on it. Do they include anything like that in the digital issue? Also, having never read a magazine on the iPad before, is it comfortable and intuitive to use?

I had a digital sub for Astronomy that has just expired, wont renew as they use Zinio, and its pants, its simply a scanned version of the mag, and I told them so, never again unless they use kindle.

Thanks for that, just the type of thing I was wondering about. Anyone specifically have S&N? Wonder if its the same.

Hi Sara,

I've just subscribed to the digital version of Sky and Telescope. I've downloaded the pdf version and so can read with the kindle app on my android tablet, my iphone or the pc. I'm enjoying it.

I think you can download single editions of S@N or Astronomy Now to try...

I use mag subscriptions and love the easy ways to navigate (I use apple products BTW). Was given Sky & Telescope digital subscription for Christmas (I'd have chosen S@N but never mind - it's the though that counts!) and it's really good! Easy to zoom in and out, and get around etc... Downside..... They've kept all the ad pages in (and let's face if S&T is nothing but ads!). Would prefer if if mags limited these in the online versions but that's just me!
