Does anyone know if a syntrek eq6 handset works....

Can a syntrek eq6 controller ( the small one with no goto) be used to control an eq5 skywatcher pro?

I understand the gearing is different but can it be altered or does it auto detect the scope its connected to like the synscan.

I also thought that the firmware detects the mount model... The latest firmware can handle alt/az and EQ mounts. ?.

I use the Synscan handset from my EQ3-Pro on my Syntrek HEQ-5 and vice-versa...

It might work, depending on if the MCB controls the sidereal tracking rate. The main problem will be that the EQ6 uses a DB9 plug and the EQ5 uses a RJ45 plug so you will need to cut the original plug off the Syntrek handset and replace with a RJ45.
