SkyScan Upgrade for EQ6?

Hi All,

Thinking about buying and fitting a Skyscan upgrade ro my dual drive standard EQ6 I picked up last year. How easy is it to fit? And can you run the skyscan from the mains with a adapter to convert AC to DC? Is there an official one to use?.

I have carried out this very mod. and it is straightforward to do - no nasty surprises.

There are many mains power supplies available to suit the EQ6 - just make sure that you have an RCD in line before the PSU and buy one with a current handling of 4 amps or more. I am not aware of an 'official' unit for this mount.

The Synscan upgrade is easy just a case of replacing the motors and face plate. I'd go for at least a 5A 12V supply if using a bigger scopes.
