HaRGB M42 - what do the experts think please?

Last night I took 8 subs of 150sec each of R, G and B binned 2x2 with the Atik 460ex , and tonight added them to the 7 x 300sec Ha subs from New Years Day.

I registered, stacked (with a Winsorised Sigma Clip) and stretched the RGB subs, then combined them in Pixinsight. I got weird results from LRGB routine in PI, so I added the Ha as a Lum layer in Photoshop.

Ignoring the fact the the core is blown out, ( I also took a lot of shorter duration subs for that once I've got this first bit cracked) I'm after a bit of feedback / advice please, because truth be told, this is my first attempt at LRGB imaging and I found it a bit of a struggle - what do people think? Am I on the right track or not? Any pointers would be really appreciated please.
