1st effort at moon ....

Hugh

Recommended Posts

I couldn't resist taking a snap through the ep last night. Very basic but I'm quite pleased with the result as it was a hand held effort...

All I need now is a wedge a DSLR (and the patience of a saint :D)

All advice & comments gratefully received.

Cheers

Hugh

Not a bad effort at all for a hand held exposure Hugh. You have the focus OK, but maybe a bit over exposed.

Try bracketing your exposures, as it is a difficult subject to get spot on. You can reach an optimum setting, then tweak where necessary afterwards.

Cheers.

Ron.

In Photoshop 6, I went Image>adjust>Curves... and played around with the line a bit. IIRC, I took it from 1/3 and 2/3 and dragged it towards the bottom right corner

Then I played around with Image>adjust>levels... and dragged the black arrow and the grey arrow to the right

Then I dragged the saturation bar (Image>adjust>Hue/Saturation) to +30.

Lastly I did Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen

In this case, changing contrast didn't improve the image at all.

Voila!
