Tried my 70mm without the Frine Killere and I was surprised at the lack of visible CA on Jupiter even at high magnification. However the moon off axis showed a thin violet line at 26x and even at 17.5x bright Sirius low down in the sky sparkled with colour.

Chris,

Many thanks for the feedback.

Can you give me some idea as to the mag you were using on Jupiter.

I take it that Sirius was showing CA.

Out of interest which fringe killer do you use and does it really make a difference - eg would it remove the Moon's thin Violet at 25x for instance?

Cheers

Robin
