HITECASTRO - Am I right?

Bit confused here. I've been looking at getting some form of guidescope and guiding package after Xmas, but came across this.

Am I right in thinking you can connect your DSLR (on the eyepiece obviously) to this device, then the guideport on the mount, and be able to guide using your laptop and NO guidescope?

If I'm right, how do you image with that camera, and does it work?

Thanks in advance.

This is the link on FLO: http://www.firstligh...usb-guider.html

It's not the EQDIR adapter for controlling the mount.

The USB autoguider is a mount/laptop interface device. Autoguider software such as PHD send corrective signals back the mounts' ST4 port through it. You will still need a separate guide camera aswell as an imaging camera to use it.
