Astronomical Concepts Explained

Recommended Posts

Following on from previous threads that I have read in here, I just wanted to clear a few things up in my mind and I found this web page and it has helped me understand quite a few things much better than I previously did. (btw, if you look at the time you can see I obviously am a insomniac or need to get out more)

It would be handy if you have stellarium installed on your PC http://www.stellarium.org/

There is some very good stuff in here explained in lay terms and especially good bit about EQ / AZ and the difference in how they work and the stuff about Units of measurement.

I think this might be particularly useful to begginers such as I, see what you think.

I read through it and consider it a good source of beginner information. Sometimes, when we have an understanding of certain stargazing concepts, when we try to explain these to others, having several different explanations that arrive at the same points can be most valuable.
