Taking a picture with a bog standard camera

I have heard of people just sticking a camera over the viewer and taking a quick picture and i want to just try doing a few, question is, you do this without an EP in do you?

no, a nice low power, wide view eye piece would be good place to start.

I would also recommend a PH047 Ultra Afocal Digital Camera Support to keep the camera steady over the eyepiece. It's surprising how good the images you can get with a bog standard camera are. This method is best suited to the moon though.

thanks for the replies chaps, just looked at that bracket but its 22 quid, I will leave it for now. i am getting a cheap webcam and I am going to convertt it to fit the EP so i will see how that turns out first, thnaks for the advice though
