Can anyone recommend a good 3/5x Barlow for about £50?

I've not used it but Revelation stuff is usually OK (my 2" 2x barlow is excellent)

Hi Jon welcome to SGL, the 5X Barlow is quite a step up in magnification and you have not said what type of scope you are intending to tack it onto, your main optics are an important factor in the chain especially when used for imaging, if that is what you intend to use it for and you could be disappointed in the outcome, just a point to be aware of before spending your hard earned cash. If this has raised any doubts at all, then it may be best to ask more questions before proceeding

There's a Tal 3x barlow for sale on ebay right now - chances are it will be sold already but worth a try. Bear in mind the higher the magnification you go the more accurate your tracking will have to be. That's why few people use more than 2.5x mag. At 5x you'll need something like a CG5, HEQ5, or NEQ6 mount along with a half decent scope. But with a manual dob you will deffo be disappointed. An idea of what kit you have would facilitate more specific advice
