Nice view of Moon and Venus this morning

Looking out of the bedroom window this morning, I spotted a near conjunction of Venus and a thin crescent moon. I pointed them out to the boys (9 and 10) and they were duly impressed. I always like seeing members of the solar family together, and of course the enthusiasm of the younger members of my own family.

Yes it was a lovely sight this morning - and with mercury about 5 deg below venus - a lovely gathering.

Couldn't spot Mercury, unfortunately. It was hidden by trees and low clouds.

Caught the view this morning just as I was leaving for work with the missus- 06.40am

She then pipes up " how come I can see the moon and the sun at this time" ????????
