They have a list of observing places also there is restricted access for cars which I expect is how you will get there and carry your scope in. There are also a few events being held one of which may coincide with your visit. There is an observatory there and I could expect observing to be centered around there, it would make some sense.

There are lots of great viewing points in the Galloway forest park, I was there last week for a nights viewing and i chose the Kirroughtree visitors center car park to view from. Although not the darkest part of the forest , the sky was absolutely stunning with the milky way in full view.

Takes a while to pick out the constellations as there's so many stars in the sky.

I highly recommend a visit!
