does LP affect mono images?

It has to in reality.

The light pollution we see is a combination of all the assortment of lights out there, low pressure sodium, high pressure sodium, xenon lights, arc lights, LED lights, tungstun lights. So there will be every wavelength you do not want in there somewhere.

Unfortunately "yes", but it can be minimized to some extent by using narrowband filters which let through a restricted set of wavelengths only. LRGB imaging though will be tricky if there's lots of light pollution around. There was a thread recently suggesting that inclusion of a light pollution filter in the imaging train may be of some help - maybe check it out.
