Waht flattener for ED80

Loads of different types I see. Was thinking of getting the SW 0.85 flattener/reducer.

Does the reducer function matter that much though on an ED80? Whats it actually going to do in terms of the effect on images? If not can go for a much cheaper one. Not that bothered though - would rather get the best one.

Appreciate your thoughts please?

Rgds, Steve

It does make a difference! You will get pin-sharp stars across the fov - especially useful when using a DSLR. The reduction also helps, you get a wider fov and an overall faster scope. The SW one is specifically designed to match the optics of the ED80 so is the one to go for.

+1 Quite right - works well :) Nice flat image, more light and more coverage - eg. you can get M31 Andromeda Galaxy in the frame of a DSLR with the FR. Never regretted buying mine :)
