Hi Gang,

Was up early this morning expecting to see a clear sky, and i was rewarding with a beautiful view. Still just dark enough to see Saturn with the naked eye. I rushed to set up the scope and webcam for a quick broadcast.

Here's a few snaps from the show :)

Should improve everyday. I'm looking forward with relish to imaging it over the winter. Now i'm tracking it shouldn't be too difficult to surpass my only worthwhile attempt so far.

This effort was completely manual in all respects. Including frame quality selection from over 3700 frames, registax alignment, and tracking. Took me a whole afternoon just to select the best frames and i won't be doing that again for sure lol!!

What time were you able to view saturn? I take it it was very low on the horizon?!

I can't wait to image it either, although I'm not expecting great images I'd just like to add to my Jupiter shots.

Great image, nice to see something other than Jupiter.

Thanks D,

The time was about 7:45am when i was losing it due to Sunrise. On the 27th of this month it will be less than a degree away from Venus. With my 70mm refractor and 0.6X reducer, i should just be able to squeeze them in shot together if it's clear.

Baz.
