Jupiter looking awesome just after midnight last Saturday. Some steady seeing (AII) gave me a crisp view in my 8.5" Newtonian at x220. Grabbed loads of detail as per the sketch:

11-11-12

8.5" x220 magnification

Neodymium filter

00-55UT to 01-45UT

System I: 319 degrees approx

System II: 93 degrees approx

SEB contained two white spots as well as some interesting detail falling into the EZ. The NEB was the most feature-rich I've seen it since the 'Big Split'. Loads of rifting activity and angled slabs of broken darker material bordering the EZ. Also glimpsed a thin line of material in the STz. Really fascinating stuff.

Thanks for posting this. I had a really great view Thursday 1 am but only using 8.4mm x143, so it's great to see what more awaits me when I push the mag higher. Regret I didn't do that on the night but gives me something to look forward to.
