Hello i have older EQ3-2 mount witch is black. I want to put ST80 on it and i need a dovetail. And i want to ask will this 15cm (top one) dovetail http://www.firstligh...ing-plates.html fit to my EQ3-2 head http://www.part.lt/i...f2eeb5ea181.jpg ? Thanks!

I have that mount, labeled as a skywatcher skyscan 2001. As far as i can tell, only a few people were able to change it and fit a dovetail style puck, it certainly wasn't a commercial option. You're better off either changing the mount or getting some tuberings.

The early mount was indeed designed for tube rings and it works well with these - I used mine with my ED80 as a grab 'n go system for eclipses and occultations

Huh.. Maybe you have any ideas how to put ST80 on it? I got one idea to get a 21cm dovetail ant drill holes in it.

Not for ST80 tube rings are to far from each other ant if you put ST80 one tube ring is fine but other is on a dew shield

I had this problem with my mount. I used a cut down bar for a guide scope. Drilled holes to bolt thru the mount and then drilled further holes in the right places for putting the scope rings.

Lucky the mount head had a 'dip' in the middle to allow the boats heads to sit in.

All worked fine and stable.

I just checked and saw that if i drill holes here http://www.part.lt/img/1f6768fbc02139b2daa9489461374687853.jpg it will fit for ST80 tube rings. So i think i will drill them
