TheSky Planaterium software - thoughts?

Does anyone here have or use "TheSky" version 6 planaterium software? I`m tempted, as my Starry Night Pro Plus 6 is OK but lacking some of the extras that TheSky has.

Any options, hints, tips or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I use the TheSky 6 to control my scope, something which it does very well indeed.

Previously used Starry Night Pro 3, but had a few issues with it, when it came to controlling my scope.

I then switched over to TheSky 6, and have not regretted doing so.

IMO, its a bit more professional at doing the 'scope control' bit, and is, I believe cheaper than Starry Night Pro.

BTW, I have the 'Serious Astronomer' version.

I assume version 6 is MUCH better than what came with my 102 SLT? :?

Don't know what came with your 102 SLT, so can't make any comparisons.

What I can say, is that 'The Sky 6' is very comprehensive, and good at what it does in my obsy, so I haven't any complaints.

Seems to be version 5. Level 1. I prefer Stellarium.

The one you have may be the cheapest one of the three options, which even with version 6, has very limited capability.

I have the 'Serious Astronomer' version, which has the full 'scope control' abilty, plus a whole lot more.

The basic Sky 6, is probably akin to Starry Night Backyard I guess.
