My first DSO M13

M13 taken with a Canon 450D on a Skywatcher 150P and tracking EQ3-2. A total of 7x30sec. Stacked in DSS with darks and bias frames and processed and cropped in CS3. Happy with my first attempt, the full image shows some distortion towards the outer edges has given me the urge to try other objects.

very nice for a first attempt, you must be pleased, distorion can be corrected by taking flats i think but someone with more knowledge than me can

help you here. Just starting out myself. Well done

Well done - and posted the same night - you must be keen!! The distortion you see (stars slightly oval and the long axis of the oval pointing towards the centre of the image) is coma and is inherent with reflectors. You can buy your way around it with a coma corrector - otherwise you can crop it out if it offends your eye.
