IC 334 - Nice object

Finally some dark sky and no moon..

After enjoying 168P the nice comet in Pegasus I went for a few new fuzzies..

Not much success but IC334 was an exception. Nice glow, relatively large and not too difficult to see in the 10 inch..Nice and high in the North at the moment as well..

It had a bright supernova in 2008 apparantly and has distorted dust lanes in pics.. Just over 100 million light years away..

And no NGC number!

Welll worth the visit..

I have seen the core of 342 but to be honest it was much harder than IC 334.

Interesting. I found IC 342 difficult (only spotted it once), almost resembling an open cluster with some nebulosity, what with all the foreground stars. I was at a dark location with very transparent skies, and IC 342 was almost overhead at the time. If IC 334 is a lot easier I should give it a go!
