Skywatcher flextube battery mounting

Hi,

My 300px uses a very large leisure battery which would probably drive it for days.

The only problem is when the scope slews I have to physically move the battery round to ensure the power cable does not get snagged and its quite heavy.

Has anyone mounted a smaller battery directly on the mount (chipboard bit) and if you have can you send some photos / battery specs so I can review.

I've got a long cable for mine and that works well. I've attached the cable down to the base so its easier to manage - and if you remember not to keep moving in one direction then its easy to stop it getting wrapped around the base.
