Illuminated switches or not

Just got an electronic ram to raise my telescopic pier and thought I'd make a small control box to work it.

All I wanted was two 12v, illuminated, dpst, momentary rocker switches.

Now you can get 240v illuminated ones and 12v non illuminated ones and 12v switching ones but not the combination I want.

So I went to Maplins and discovered that the momentary unlit switch was identical to the switching lit one and when I bought them and took then apart

the only difference was that the momentary one had a spring to stop it locking on the interior was identical in both swithches just no spring fitted in the locking on one.

So I had to by two of each take them apart and fit the springs in the the illuminated ones to make them into momentary switches.

If the only difference is the spring not fitted why the heck don't they make them in the factory ?

Still all made and working now so rant over.
