Microsoft ICE question.

I've just downloaded Microsoft ICE so i can stitch multiple images togeather, but have stumbled at the first hurdle!

When i go to File, then New Panorama and try to select an image i want to use, i get a message that says; Please select two or more images.

My problem is, how do select multiple images?

Everything i've tried doesn't work.

Any ideas please?

Hold down the Ctrl key and click on each image in turn.

Either that or Ctrl + A to select all images if you have all desired images in one folder. There's nothing special in this program that the file selection would be different from other Windows programs.

If you are computer savvy and know how to select a number of files, select the ones you want and then drag them onto the ICE screen, you must select two or more files at once .

If you're selecting a few images, you can click on the first then shift + click on the last and all inbetween will be selected.

I just select all the files I need in its folder and drag the selection to the ICE screen, then sit back and watch it do its thing.

Just had a go, only matched 2 files, but it's a start.

Looking forward to taking some more images of the moon now.

What a clever and easy to use piece of software - thanks for the heads up. Just tried a quick test with a back garden panorama and it worked quite well.

Are there any settings to tweak within the application that are worth knowing about?

I just tend to drag and drop and let the programme do it's job. I have played around with all the options and chaos reinged so I just leave it, it seems to know what it's doing

Yep just let it do its thing.

If you want to be really clever with mosaics then "Hugin" is the one to go for - open source I think and does all sorts of tricks (especially with perspectives).

Ok so, now is where you all see just how useless i am with computers!

I first started this thread because i couldn't select multiple files to stitch.- Got some advice and managed that.

Now i have a new problem. I saved that image, but now when i try to open it, a message saying; "Could not open the project file" apears.

Can anyone help please?

What you have done is saved it as a project for ICE, you need to save it as a BMP, JPG or whatever type you work with. To do this if you look to the right below the photo screen there is a button (Export to disk), click that and a window will appear asking you to save, once done you can close ICE down and it will ask you if you wish to save the project, this you have done already, hope that will help.
