Spectroscopy - Where to start

Hi well Spectroscopy seems fascinating, Using the kit in my signature I get some reasonable images, however reading this area it seems like there is a chance to undertake some real science. I get the general principal that by analysing the light you can determine what the source is made of. However I have no idea where to start, any pointers really appreciated.

"Astronomical Spectroscopy for Amateurs" by Springer would be a good start! ;-)

Check out the other threads for Star Analyser (or Rainbow Optics gratings) gratings; these provide an ideal starting point to aquire spectra.
