Hi all,

How's it going, Mark?

To my surprise, I managed to capture 2012 QG42 this evening after all. I guess my computer's clock must be wrong, as the asteroid turned up on my images at precisely the right spot, but several minutes later than the PC said it should. Here's a very rough animation of a series of 4 minute exposures, as it sped past asteroid (1596) Itzigsohn. You can see how Itzigsohn moved in that time, too.

SXVF-H9 cam, 250mm f/4.7 Newtonian. No flats, no darks. As a matter of interest, 2012 QG42 is just 0.0241AU from earth, whereas asteroid Itzigsohn is apparently 1.8483AU from earth, 76 times further.

Animation (Don't watch it too long, or it'll do your eyes in!)

Grrr..Will try again..

The CDC position does not seem quite right in my software..

Mark....

Maybe I will stick with galaxies..at least they do not move!
