IC 5146 Cocoon Nebula

Still working on collimation, but this is a shot of the Cocoon Nebula with the current setup. Really must get some flats though! 5x240s L + 5 60s RGB @ 2x2, AG10+EQ6+SX(OAG+FW+H16+Lodestar). Thought I'd see what F/3.8 was capable of, hence the 60s RGB. Not quite long enough though, I think there's too much noise at 5x60s.

Very nice shot. I agree a bit noisy but still shows a lot of detail.

Gina - Unfortunately your wrong. It is the cocoon nebula. The cocoon and trifid do look look a lot a like. They both have 4 "dark dust arms". But one of the cocoons arms (the SW one in this image) has a distinct perpendicular dust lane at the end. Where the trifid all the arms look like the wrap around.
