Sun imaging with a Canon EOS 1100D

Hey all.

Has anyone imaged the sun with the above camera ?

I am thinking of trying using my SW 200P DS but am wondering what kind of exposure times I would use and what ISO ?

I am also gonna try with my Phillips webcam for stacking as I read when you magnify alot the webcam is better than DSLR.

So any hints are most welcomed.

With your 1100D, you can get full disc images, with a web cam you'll only get partial disc images. I've used my 90mm refractor and 1100D + Baader solar film (of course :) ) and caught pretty good sunspots.

I think I used 100 ISO and about 1/250th sec. Adjust the shutter speed to get a fainter image in liveview, too bright will blow out details.
