I had a few minutes of blue sky this morning so I set my lyra optic 4" f11 PST stage 2 modified refractor up on a tripod and then

Shock horror

Put a 10mm eyepiece in and observed the sun with my eyes ! I think this is only the 2nd time I've used an EP lol

The proms and surface detail were very nice but my dmk21 camera sees a lot more than I can

Yes Kev, I agree with this "observation". I find my 150mm PST mod visually gets close to single stacked Ha processed surface images on a really good day and is certainly equal if not marginally better on prominence detail. It's nice to know though, that the instrument would be capable of good imaging if I ever got round to seriously trying it. :smiley:
