Synscan Clock Backup

Has anyone modified their Synscan Handset so that you don't have to enter the date every time you power down the main box (I am using an EQ3 Pro Synscan GOTO).

OK, it should only be once an evening but it is still rather stupid for a decent piece of kit to have this shortcoming and is another source of error (I rarely carry a watch - I know, stupid me!)

I don't use the handset - I use ASCOM and control the mount from the PC.
