NGC 6543 - How to control the star

Hi

This is 2 hours worth of 300 sec exposures as ISO800 using the kit in my signature.

I appreciate I will need more data, however there is some detail coming though, my problem is im not sure what method to use to stop the star getting blown out. Pointers appreciated.

The missing step is, I think, that when you've finished processing the nebula, apply a single, aggressive standard curve to the star layer just to bring the background up to the same level.
