Sun 12/07/2012 and major X-flare!

Today I had the first opportunity, thanks to nice weather here , to image AR1520. What a great active region! Nice details and lots of activity...

Around 18.00 UTC I read a message that a huge X-flare just had taken place, so I grabbed my Lunt, put it on a photo tripod and just before sunset put my DMK21 in. I could just get 10s of imagery and then the clouds covered it. I used about 30% of this data, so I had effectively 3s of data... But still it was clear something huge had happened:
